Tim Leatherman, from Oregon in the USA, created the multi- tool that bears his name, out of necessity. He and his wife were travelling in Europe in a high maintenance’ car that needed lots of adjustments. He had to improvise with whatever he could find but in a light bulb moment, wondered what would happen if he’d had everything he needed at his fingertips. Finally, In 1983, the first Leatherman multi-tool was ready for production and the orders have rolled in ever since.

Now Leatherman is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first multi-tool with the release of a Limited Edition Pocket Survival Tool, which is based on Tim Leatherman’s original design including the heritage brown leather sheath.. Simplicity, utility, and portability makes it a modern day treasure. The words Limited Edition are etched into the outside of the tool because it really is something you’d like to keep forever.
